From March 20 to 22, the Lithuanian fair Kaziukas (Kaziuko mugė) will take place at the Riga Central Market — one of the most famous and oldest spring folk events in Lithuania.
For three days, more than 60 craftsmen and culinary heritage masters from across the country will gather here. They will bring traditional Lithuanian products, handmade items, and various crafts to Riga.
Fair guests will be able to taste and purchase meat and fish delicacies, bread and pastries, cheeses, sweets, honey, oils, spices, and syrups produced in Lithuania, as well as ecological beverages and other products.
Masters of folk crafts will also showcase their work. At the fair, one can find products made from wool, linen, and other fabrics, clothing, wooden and ceramic items, woven and forged goods, jewelry, souvenirs, and many other handmade items.
The organizers will pay special attention to Lithuanian cuisine. Visitors will be offered to try cepelinai, Samogitian and potato pancakes, kibinai, Kazukas soup, homemade bread kvass, šakotis, and other traditional dishes.
Throughout all three days, Lithuanian folk groups and singers will perform on stage.
Kaziuko mugė, or the Feast of Saint Casimir, is considered one of the largest and oldest folk fairs in Lithuania. Its history dates back to the 17th century, and it traditionally takes place in March — in honor of the arrival of spring and in memory of Lithuania's patron Saint Casimir.
