Stephen Fry to Play a Genius Former MI6 Agent in New Fox Series

The series successfully combines classic British style and the tension of an American thriller.

Fox has officially announced the launch of a new dramatic project titled "Interrogator." The network is so confident in the potential of the upcoming film that it has ordered a full season of 12 episodes, bypassing the pilot stage. The lead role — that of an eccentric and genius master of manipulation — will be played by the incomparable Stephen Fry.

At the center of the story is Conrad Henry, a former high-ranking agent of the British intelligence agency MI6. Conrad is not just a detective; he has an elite team and a unique set of skills. When standard interrogation and investigation methods hit a dead end, Henry steps in.

His weapons: outstanding intelligence, aristocratic charm, and unpredictable psychological maneuvers. He aims to break the mental barriers of the world's most dangerous criminals and extract the truth where others are powerless.

  • The project promises to be an auteur piece: Stephen Fry not only plays the lead role but also wrote the script for the pilot episode. The script was also worked on by Bill Harper and Matt Pyken.

  • The director's chair is occupied by Paul McGuigan ("Sherlock," "Lucky Number Slevin"), which guarantees the series a dynamic and stylish visual.

  • The production team includes industry giants from Anonymous Content, Lionsgate Television, and Fox Entertainment Studios.

For the actor, this marks a return to the "family" of Fox, where he previously captivated audiences with his role as psychologist Gordon Wyatt in the series "Bones." Fry, a legend of British humor and drama ("Blackadder," "Wild," "V for Vendetta"), will now showcase his talent in a role where every word is part of a refined game.

"Interrogator" will be a key part of Fox's revamped lineup of original scripts. Against the backdrop of the recent launch of the reboot of "Baywatch" and successful medical dramas like "Doc" and "The Good Doctor," the new project with Fry is set to strengthen the network's dramatic segment alongside the series "The Killer's Memory" starring Patrick Dempsey.

The premiere is expected in the 2026-2027 television season, and critics are already predicting success for the series due to its successful combination of classic British style and intense American thriller.
