The U.S. Names Timeline for China's Attack on Taiwan - Media

Advisers to Donald Trump believe that China may attempt to forcibly seize Taiwan within the next five years. The main threat in Washington is the critical dependence of the U.S. on the Taiwanese company TSMC, which produces advanced semiconductors for the global economy and American technologies.

Advisers to U.S. President Donald Trump believe that China may attack Taiwan within the next 5 years. This was reported by the news agency UPI.

The relevant conclusions were made by the advisers of the American leader after the summit in Beijing on May 14-15.

According to them, Beijing no longer considers itself a country that is catching up with others. Now they see themselves as equals to the United States.

"Xi Jinping signaled that China no longer sees itself as a rising power, but as equal to the United States. And he is trying to say that Taiwan belongs to China," emphasized one of the sources to the media.

The Taiwan issue is not just a territorial dispute. It is a struggle for leadership in the future due to the serious vulnerabilities of the United States in the field of computer technology, analysts emphasize.

The United States is critically dependent on TSMC. It is the company that produces the most advanced chips used everywhere. Semiconductor supply chains are held in Taiwan, and if the island is blocked, the U.S. economy will come to a halt, as building factories at home takes time.

Trump's adviser defines that there is currently no "real way for us to become self-sufficient in the near future."

  • A military move by China would provoke a chain reaction:

  • Complete halt of advanced microchip production.

  • Collapse of the U.S. stock market due to the fall of tech giants.

  • Crisis in artificial intelligence and defense development.

  • Disruption of global logistics routes.

In Trump's political circles, Taiwan is considered the biggest risk.

The summit in Beijing did not bring stability; on the contrary, it highlighted the scale of danger, the material concludes.

As is known, Trump warned Taiwan against declaring independence, and prior to that, Xi Jinping stated that a conflict could arise between Beijing and Washington over Taiwan.

In the editorial's opinion, the Taiwan issue has long transcended the territorial dispute between China and Taiwan. Today, it is about global technological leadership, stability of world markets, and the future of the artificial intelligence industry. Any serious crisis around Taiwan could provoke large-scale economic and political consequences far beyond Asia.
