On March 2 at 19:00, a gala concert of the 'Rising Stars' competition will be held in the Great Hall of the Riga Jewish Community - a bright event concluding the competition of young vocalists and instrumentalists under the patronage of Mikhail Kazinik, which is taking place in Riga for the 16th time this year.
The concert will be hosted by the maestro himself - the brilliant violinist and musicologist Mikhail Kazinik.
In the first part of the concert, the audience will see performances by the competition laureates from different countries. In the second part, listeners will enjoy works performed by the jury members and Mikhail Kazinik, as well as the famous 'Children's Symphony' by Joseph Haydn ('Toy Symphony') - a gift from the festival orchestra conducted by conductor Arturs Gailis.
The special guests of the gala concert will be the legendary double bassist Grigory Kovalevsky and the leading actor of the Mikhail Chekhov Riga Russian Theatre Yakov Rafalson, who will perform in interesting roles - an actor dreaming of music and a musician dreaming of the theater.
