In 2026, the international charity event "1 Picasso for 100 Euros" will take place on April 14, Hypebeast reports.
For 100 euros (the ticket price), one can win the painting "Head of a Woman" ("Tête de femme"), painted by Picasso in 1941. This portrait is created in gray tones using gouache. It depicts Dora Maar — the artist's lover and muse, whom he met in 1936. The approximate value of the work is $1.1 million.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Fondation Recherche Alzheimer, a French organization that supports Alzheimer's disease research.
The 2026 lottery will be the third of its kind. In the first draw, held in 2013, 25-year-old Jeffrey Gonano from Pennsylvania won the painting "Man in a Top Hat" ("L’Homme au Gibus"). In 2020, the painting "Still Life" ("Nature Morte") was won by Italian Claudia Borgogno.
