The premiere of the second part of the series 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' will take place in August 2026. Netflix announced this on social media and published the official poster.
The series is based on the eponymous international bestseller by Gabriel García Márquez. The action takes place in the fictional town of Macondo, founded by the charismatic leader José Arcadio Buendía.
"A story about the trials of impossible love, about confronting a past that haunts a family for generations, and about a curse that dooms them to destruction," the synopsis states.
The first part of 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' was released in December 2024 and became one of the most ambitious projects in the history of Latin America. The series was entirely filmed in Colombia with the support of the Nobel laureate's family.
The cast of the show includes Colombians Marco González, Santiago Vásquez, Susana Morales, Marleida Soto, Moreno Borja, Claudio Cataño, Viña Machado, and others.
The directors of the new project are Alex García López, who worked on the series 'Daredevil', 'The Witcher', and 'Misfits', as well as Laura Mora Ortega ('Kings of the World').
The executive producers of the Spanish-language show are the sons of García Márquez himself.
