Equestrian sports have long held their place in the program of the Summer Olympic Games. However, horses are not the only animals that leave a lasting impression on the participants and spectators of the Games.
At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, a funny incident occurred. In Canada, there was a cute but somewhat careless act by the organizers. One American tourist decided to register his husky for access to the competition area, and he succeeded. The organizers were not bothered by the fact that a pet became an official guest of the Games.
At the 2014 Olympic Games, there was another touching moment that did not leave the spectators indifferent. American freestyler Gus Kenworthy discovered five stray dogs near the Olympic media center. The athlete fed four puppies and their mother throughout his stay in Sochi, and ultimately decided to take them back with him to the USA.
