Eternal Rivals: Find Out Why Cats Can't Stand Dogs

"Like cats and dogs!" — this is how people who are constantly in conflict are described. Indeed, instances of friendship between these animals are more often the exception than the rule. But what lies behind their dislike for each other?

In fact, the relationship between these animals is quite complex.

Research shows that when dogs, driven by curiosity and a desire to establish social connections, show interest, cats, due to their behavioral traits, tend to avoid contact. This is because these animals have different communication patterns and perceptions of the surrounding world.

But that's not all! Both cats and dogs are predators. Since dogs are generally larger than cats, they perceive the avoiding animal as a potential prey. The hunting instinct kicks in, and the chase begins: the dog pursues the cat until it catches up with it or until the cat can hide at an inaccessible height.
