Very slowly.
Wire is a thin metal thread used for embroidery, twisted into a spiral.
In the process of its production, the wire blank is sequentially passed through many holes in a drawing board, each of which has a smaller diameter than the previous one, allowing the metal to thin down to fractions of a millimeter. During this process, the wire must be constantly heated to facilitate the drawing process.
Performing such monotonous work takes many hours. Therefore, in a figurative sense, the term “wire” is used to denote lengthy and sometimes meaningless activities.
