If the calf is born when the temperature in the room is 8-10°C, it is left in that place for 2-3 days, having previously laid clean and dry straw or hay.
This is necessary for the bedding to warm up, which is especially important for the calf in the first hours of its life. It is absolutely forbidden to use wood shavings and chips as bedding for milk calves. If calves start to eat such bedding (even in small amounts), it can lead to diseases.
The calf's bed is organized as follows: in a specially designated area, shavings are piled to a depth of 15-20 cm, then covered with straw in the amount of 10-12 kg, and as the bedding becomes soiled, more is added (after one or two days).
It is important to remember that bulls of all ages should be handled calmly and strictly. Playing with them, pushing them, or forcing them to chase after you is not allowed. A playful bull, accustomed to harmless entertainment, can grow into a dangerous animal for those around.
