Auto mechanic Igor KRAINOV warns that rubber parts of the car may suffer from prolonged inactivity.
The preparation process should begin with inspecting the tires, brake hoses, engine drive belts, and suspension components. The rubber parts should maintain their elasticity and show no visible cracks or other damage. It is also necessary to check the pressure in all tires.
The next step is to check the battery. Before connecting the battery to the onboard network, ensure the electrolyte level and the voltage between the terminals.
If the car has been idle for more than six months, it is recommended to drain the remaining fuel from the tank and refill it with new fuel. Don’t forget to check the onboard electrical system – brake lights, turn signals, and other components.
