Instead of the usual white paint, dacha owners can create a protective coating for garden trees themselves using chalk and paste. Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an agronomist and landscape designer, shared the best recipe for whitening plants.
To prepare the inexpensive solution, 10 liters of water, 3 kilograms of chalk, 500 grams of copper sulfate, and 100 grams of paste are needed. All components must be thoroughly mixed and left to infuse for several hours. The consistency should be moderately thick.
Before applying the solution, Kovrizhnykh recommended cleaning the tree trunks. “Do not apply the whitening too thickly, otherwise it will start to peel off,” added the agronomist.
