Daikon, like radish, requires timely thinning.
At the stage of forming two to three true leaves, carefully remove weak seedlings to avoid damaging the remaining plants, or use scissors. Some gardeners attempt to transplant excess plants without paying attention to the condition of the roots, which leads to mistakes. Often the root is torn or bent, resulting in a deformed root vegetable.
Transplanting seedlings at the stage of two to three true leaves is already too late; this should be done earlier, as soon as the first pair of true leaves appears.
Place the transplanted seedlings in holes made with a stake to the full length of the main root, which should be positioned strictly vertically. Gently press the root down with soil using the same stake and water generously.
