How to Feed and Water Goats?

In winter, in good weather (with frost up to 15 degrees, without wind), goats should definitely be let out into the yard and fed there.

In summer, goats must be grazed on all types of pastures, except for wet and marshy ones. To avoid overgrazing, goats should be tethered while grazing. To protect trees from damage, it is recommended to encircle the goat with a chest strap that passes between the front legs, with one end attached to the halter and the other to a special strap that wraps around the body behind the shoulders. If grazing is not possible, they should be walked well.

Goats should be given only clean, high-quality, not cold water (6-10 degrees). They are watered twice a day after feeding, providing 2.5-4 liters per head at each watering. In summer, milking and nursing does with kids should be watered twice in the morning, before the heat sets in, and at 4-5 PM. In spring and autumn, if there is lush grass in the pasture and it is not hot, goats can be watered once during the day or in the evening after returning from the pasture.
