Do people who do not consume meat really lack body odor?

There is a smell, but it is less pronounced.

This statement is based on a study conducted by Czech anthropologists in 2006. According to their data, the body odor of men who abstained from meat for two weeks became more pleasant and less pungent compared to when they were eating meat.

The conclusions were drawn based on assessments from experts—women who were unfamiliar with the study participants. The mechanisms explaining this effect were not studied. It can be assumed that abstaining from meat slows down nitrogen metabolism (the products of which play an important role in forming body odor) or alters the composition of skin microflora.

In any case, it was only about a significant reduction in intensity, so the claim that there is “no smell” is a clear exaggeration.
