Why Vinyl Records Sound Richer Than CDs?

The reason lies in the preservation of original recordings.

Under equal conditions, the digital sound of CDs surpasses analog vinyl records in all parameters. However, it is rare to conduct a comparison of recordings made under the same conditions. For example, records from the 1960s and 1970s were created using fresh master tapes and may sound better than CDs that were made later from already worn originals or even from vinyl discs.

Modern recordings are initially created in digital format, and when pressed onto vinyl, they inevitably lose some qualities. However, due to the popularity of vinyl, such records are often played on high-quality equipment, while digital sound is often played on inexpensive players that may cut frequencies.

Additionally, digital recordings are often compressed for transmission over the internet. This creates the impression that vinyl sounds better than digital sound, although this is not actually the case.
