The 45-year-old great-grandson of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Leonid Brezhnev, Anton Milaev went to war against Ukraine and was captured by Ukrainian forces. This was reported by the Russian Telegram channel Baza.

Milaev's mother told the editorial office that in the fall of 2025 he went "to the special military operation" (this is how the war is referred to in Russia - UNIAN) as a sapper and by November he had stopped communicating with his family.

"The story of the family of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union after the collapse of the Soviet Union has turned out paradoxically. The great-grandson of the political figure, who was born and built a career in Ukraine, having done much for the republic during the Soviet period, was captured by Ukrainian military," writes Baza.

It is noted that Anton Milaev is the named grandson of the daughter of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Galina Brezhneva, who raised him as her own.

Milaev's mother, Irina Kuznetsova, said that a few months after her son's disappearance, information came that he was in captivity in territories controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region.
