Cement should be stored in dry, closed spaces, such as sheds, on wooden floors raised 20-50 cm above the ground, previously covered with a layer of roofing felt or parchment.
High-grade cements have particularly strict storage requirements, as they quickly clump and lose their activity due to fine grinding. The storage rooms for cement must be protected not only from moisture but also from intense air exchange, especially drafts.
On the construction site, cement in bags can be placed on wooden pallets, covering it on all sides with polyethylene film or roofing felt.
Cement can also be stored in tightly closed boxes or chests, as well as in metal or wooden barrels, but not for more than two years.
