The Thaiger: in Thailand, a worker died after several ant bites.

In Thailand, ants killed a worker who was trimming branches. This was reported by The Thaiger.

39-year-old Ekkaphan Tianphanthong had worked for many years on the Pirama Jayakan plantation in Samut Prakan province. On October 6, the employer sent him and his colleague Phichit Phurahong to trim tree branches so they would not touch the power lines. Shortly after starting work, Tianphanthong screamed that ants were attacking him and began to descend from the extension ladder.

Halfway down, the man lost consciousness, fell to the ground, and began convulsing. Jayakan and Phurahong attempted to provide first aid and called an ambulance. Doctors were unable to help Tianphanthong. No injuries were found on his body, except for several ant bites.

Phurahong reported that he was also bitten by ants from the same tree a couple of times, but without any consequences. Medical professionals concluded that Tianphanthong suffered an allergic shock due to insect venom. Tianphanthong's mother stated that she would not file charges against his employer. According to the woman, they had worked together for many years, and Jayakan treated her son as his own.
