Why Roast Raw Pasta Before Cooking: A Culinary Trick

For most people, the process of cooking pasta is associated with boiling it. However, there is another method — frying.

Vermicelli Soup

Before preparing the dish, the vermicelli is roasted in a dry skillet for 5 minutes. This helps prevent the vermicelli from becoming mushy during cooking.

The soup will become more flavorful and visually appealing. This same principle applies to other types of pasta that are added to soups.

Vermicelli Porridge

The same principle applies here as with the soup. After roasting, the vermicelli is poured with hot milk and left for 5 minutes or cooked in milk for a shorter time.

Military-Style Pasta

Cooks claim that this popular dish reveals a new flavor after frying. In the same skillet, the other ingredients are prepared, then the pasta is added and covered with a small amount of water (half a glass is sufficient). The lid does not need to be covered.
