Nutritionist Anastasia Kostomakha recommends avoiding the purchase of pre-marinated shashlik.
According to the specialist, meat that has expired is often used for such preparations, and the marinade may contain preservatives and colorants that enhance the appearance of the product.
The expert also advises choosing lean cuts of meat, as most harmful substances are released when grilling shashlik made from fatty varieties.
“Excellent options include chicken fillet, turkey, beef, lean pork, as well as lamb, if the fat is removed,” added the specialist.
