To determine the freshness of eggs, they should be submerged in water, explains epidemiologist Irina Gordeeva.

 

“Take an egg and place it in water. If it stays at the bottom, the egg is fresh. If it rises at an angle, it indicates that the product is not very fresh, but it can still be used for baking,” she shares.

Experts recommend thoroughly washing eggs before consumption to prevent infection with helminths and bacteria.

For example, to protect against salmonellosis, eggs should be well-cooked or boiled, avoiding consumption in raw form. Additionally, specialists remind that boiled eggs do not last long, so it is not advisable to stock up on them in advance for Easter.
