The doctor shared dietary recommendations for women in the menopause stage.
A gynecologist explained how the nutrition of women over 45 should look.
On the Threshold of Menopause
Menopause occurs in most women between the ages of 45 and 55. This event is often perceived as one of the most challenging in life; however, it is unavoidable. Nevertheless, who said that it is impossible to minimize the negative consequences of this new stage of life?
Gynecologist-endocrinologist Tatyana Bykova shared advice on how to improve overall well-being and avoid health problems for women who have crossed the 45-year mark.
What Should Be Done?
- It is important to reconsider one’s views on healthy eating. Special attention should be paid not only to vegetables and fruits but also to proteins. The diet should include a lot of plant protein, which can be obtained from legumes and nuts,” notes the gynecologist.
The expert also emphasizes that not all healthy foods contribute to improved well-being during menopause. For example, honey, dried fruits, and pasta can lead to weight gain rather than improvement in condition.
What to Include in the Diet
The well-being of women aged 45 to 55, who have already entered menopause, will significantly improve if they regularly (at least 3 times a week) consume the following foods:
- Nuts
- Fruits
- Unsweetened vegetables.
According to the doctor, it is especially important to receive at least 1.2 g of protein per kilogram of body weight daily. The best sources of this important element are chickpeas, peas, beans, quinoa, lentils.
