Inappropriate food and beverage temperatures can negatively affect human health and cause serious disruptions in the body.
Research has shown that the temperature of dishes and beverages is considered critically high if it exceeds 60 degrees. In such cases, there is a high likelihood of damaging the mucous membrane of the digestive tract, which can lead to the development of esophageal cancer.
According to scientists, regularly consuming beverages with a temperature above 60 degrees more than twice a day doubles the risk of developing esophageal cancer. This is because thermal burns caused by high temperatures provoke inflammation of the tissues. Hot dishes and drinks are especially dangerous for people with chronic gastrointestinal diseases.
There are also studies confirming that excessively cold food and drinks negatively affect the body. For example, they can cause muscle spasms. In some cases, this leads to vasoconstriction, which can disrupt heart function. Therefore, excessively cold products can trigger angina attacks, manifesting as pressure in the chest and burning pain.
In this regard, gastroenterologists recommend consuming foods and dishes at room temperature. The best option is if the temperature of the food matches the human body temperature, as in this case, it begins to ferment immediately.
