The nutritionist advises avoiding dairy products and sausages while traveling.
What Foods Are Needed on Trips?
When planning a road trip, it is important to pay attention not only to the route and packing but also to menu planning. Most often, food will be consumed in the car — this is safer and more convenient.
Nutritionist Oksana Dmitrieva shared recommendations on which foods to take with you and which to avoid.
- The most unsuitable foods for travel are fried chicken, dairy products, and sausages. These foods can spoil due to heat or damage to packaging. As a result, your trip may be interrupted before you reach your final destination,” warns the specialist.
According to her, ideal road snacks are cucumbers, apples, and nuts. Dried meat and dried fruits will also bring joy and health benefits.
What to Do If There Are Children on the Trip?
If you plan to spend several days on the road with children, it makes sense to buy a cooler bag. You can transport baked meat, boiled eggs, and packs of cottage cheese or cheese in it. In such conditions, the food will stay fresh, and the children will be full and happy.
However, it is best not to take favorite salty snacks like nuts, fish, or crackers, as they can cause disruptions in the body's water-salt balance. It is much healthier to replace them with vegetable sticks (carrots, apples, cucumbers, etc.) or a variety of dried fruits. The main thing is to remember to wash and pack all the food thoroughly.
