Beneficial Properties of Sesame: Healing Qualities

Sesame seeds contain a significant amount of fatty oil, primarily composed of glycerin esters and organic acids.

Sesame seeds contain sesamin — a powerful antioxidant that can lower cholesterol levels and prevent the development of various diseases, including cancer.

Additionally, the seeds are rich in carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins A, E, C, B group, as well as amino acids. They also contain minerals: calcium, potassium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium; lecithin, dietary fibers, and phytic acid — a complex substance that aids in the restoration of minerals in the body.

The elements found in sesame oil and seeds have a positive effect on health: they help eliminate toxins, normalize metabolism and blood pressure, and prevent joint diseases.

Thus, sesame deserves recognition as one of the accessible and beneficial means in food medicine, which, when consumed regularly, can prolong life and even preserve it.

For the prevention of osteoporosis

It is recommended to take 1-2 tablespoons of seeds daily.

For colds and coughs

Heat the oil in a water bath and rub it into the back and chest at night. It can also be taken warm, 1 teaspoon three times a day for angina and pharyngitis.

For stomach disorders

Grind the seeds and mix them with honey in a 1:1 ratio, adding a little boiled water. Take 1 tablespoon several times a day until improvement.

For colitis and gastritis

Take 2 teaspoons on an empty stomach several times a day.

For neuralgic pain

Toast the seeds in a pan, grind them into a powder, and take 1 tablespoon (no more) throughout the day. It is preferable to wash it down not with plain water, but by adding a little fresh ginger juice.

For poor blood coagulation

Take 1 tablespoon of sesame oil three times a day before meals. This helps increase the number of platelets.

For dermatitis

Mix equal parts of grape juice and aloe, add one part of sesame oil, and apply to the affected areas of the skin. Additionally, the oil can be taken internally 2-3 times a day, 1 tablespoon.

Alternative to facial skin care products

Add sesame oil to any cosmetic products, including cleansing and washing agents; mix it with other oils; use it in face masks — especially for aging skin, as well as a base for homemade creams.

Sesame oil for makeup removal

For example, it is excellent for removing mascara from eyelashes and can be used as an eye care product — apply the oil around the eyes in the morning and evening, gently tapping it in with your fingertips.

For weight loss

Blend soaked sesame seeds (1 cup) from the night before with boiled water (1.5 cups). Add water as needed until the mixture resembles thick cream; then strain, pour into a glass jar, cover with cheesecloth or fabric — the liquid should “breathe,” and leave it in a warm place for about 12 hours. You can add lemon juice, honey, or sugar to the finished sesame “kefir” to taste.
