Which bread to choose: black or white? Find out what is healthier for your stomach

Bread is an integral part of the diet for many people. The variety of this product is diverse: yeast, unleavened, with seeds, with pepper, wheat, or rye. The Unian website has found out which bread is the most beneficial and whether it is worth preferring black.

Why black bread is preferable to white

Gastroenterologists clearly point out the differences between white and black bread in terms of their impact on the stomach. First of all, regular white bread offers no benefits — it contains no nutrients. It is usually made from high-grade flour, which undergoes thorough processing, resulting in the loss of all vitamins. Regular consumption of wheat bread can lead to weight gain, as this product is quite caloric.

Comparing these two types, it becomes evident why black bread is considered more beneficial — it is produced using a different technology. Its composition is more dietary, which helps normalize the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. However, one should also be cautious with black bread: in the presence of gastritis, ulcers, or pancreatitis, it can cause fermentation in the intestines.

Which bread is most beneficial for health

The most optimal option, according to doctors, is gray bread, which is made from coarsely ground flour and a mixture of wheat and rye flour. Such products often contain whole grains, nuts, and seeds, making them more caloric, but still healthier than regular white bread.

It is also important to note that there is no difference between yeast and unleavened bread — yeast dies at temperatures of 60-70 degrees, while bread is baked at even higher temperatures. Gluten is not as dangerous as many believe — this component is present not only in bread but also in many other products and even in medications. Its consumption is only prohibited for those who have been prescribed a gluten-free diet by a doctor.
