The nutritionist explained why buckwheat and two other popular grains contribute to weight loss

When it comes to weight loss, many recommend eliminating carbohydrates, considering them a source of excess calories. Nutritionist, coach, and healthy eating expert Jesse Feder highlighted beneficial grains that can be part of even the strictest diet.

Jesse Feder claims that some carbohydrates can indeed contribute to weight gain when consumed in excess. However, it is important to remember that they are the primary source of energy for the body. Different foods contain different types of carbohydrates, leading to their varying effects on the body. Among them are those that can regulate blood sugar levels and aid in weight loss.

“Oats, quinoa, and buckwheat are powerful sources of nutrients among carbohydrates. These whole grains have a low glycemic index, which means they are digested slowly and provide a steady supply of glucose to the blood,” notes Jesse Feder.

She adds that this property of these foods makes them particularly valuable for stabilizing blood sugar levels, preventing sharp energy spikes and disruptions in the body’s functioning, as reported by She Finds.

Additionally, the high fiber content in these whole grains promotes a prolonged feeling of fullness, helping to avoid unnecessary snacking and reducing overall calorie intake.

“Oats, quinoa, and buckwheat have a unique set of nutrients, minerals, and vitamins. All these components support the nervous, cardiovascular, and immune systems, strengthen bones and teeth, and positively affect the entire body,” explains Jesse Feder.
