These fats accumulate in brain cells, leading to a decline in cognitive functions.

Fast food has also been classified as harmful to the brain by dietitians. It is rich in fats, salt, and carbohydrates, the excess of which negatively impacts cognitive abilities.

Alcoholic beverages also have a harmful effect on the brain — they cause blood vessel spasms and lead to the destruction of neurons. Products high in preservatives, such as chips and crackers, adversely affect metabolism in the brain.

Supporting brain health can be achieved through nuts. They contain magnesium and polyunsaturated fatty acids, which contribute to improved memory and increased information processing speed. Vitamin E, which is abundant in nuts, may slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease.

Eggs are also a beneficial food for the brain. They are rich in vitamin B, which helps improve memory and concentration. Choline, found in egg yolks, is used to treat atherosclerosis.

Dark chocolate positively affects blood vessel function due to the flavonoids and anthocyanins present in cocoa beans. To enhance memory, dietitians recommend consuming flaxseed oil, which is rich in beneficial Omega-3. The brain also “appreciates” natural products high in glucose, such as fruits, berries, and cereals.
