Regular consumption of store-bought dumplings negatively affects health and can provoke heart problems. This was reported by nutritionist Antonina Starodubova.
According to the specialist, dumplings are an appetizing but not very healthy dish. On average, 100 grams of the product contains 289 calories. In addition, the expert emphasizes that popular semi-finished products contain a lot of salt and saturated fats, which should be limited in the diet.
The doctor claims that the calorie content of dumplings significantly increases when they are fried in oil or served with sauces such as mayonnaise. Together, such combinations can lead to cardiovascular problems.
“It is important to remember that excessive amounts of critical nutrients — dietary salt and saturated fats in the diet, as well as overeating, are associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular and oncological diseases, hypertension, obesity, and type 2 diabetes,” explained the nutritionist.
However, Starodubova does not recommend completely giving up the beloved treat. It is enough not to overindulge in dumplings: occasionally, one can allow themselves 200-250 grams of semi-finished products.
Additionally, the doctor advises boiling, steaming, or baking already boiled dumplings without adding salt and fatty sauces.
