There are quite a few of them.
Vegetable oil. About 900 kcal is found in sunflower, olive, and pumpkin oil. Slightly fewer calories are in coconut oil — 862 kcal.
Fat. In salted form, it contains 815 kcal, while in unsalted form — a little less: 797 kcal.
Butter. Unsalted butter with 82% fat contains 720 kcal. Thus, just 20 g of butter in a simple cheese sandwich adds almost 150 kcal.
Nuts. The most caloric of them is macadamia (718 kcal), but more common nuts are not far behind: hazelnuts — 704 kcal, walnuts — 654 kcal, almonds — 645 kcal.
Mayonnaise. The familiar “Provence” contains about 630 kcal.
Cod liver — 589 kcal.
Seeds. Sunflower seeds contain 578 kcal, while pumpkin seeds have “only” 556. This refers to unsalted seeds.
Chocolate. Dark chocolate with 70% cocoa content has 550 kcal.
Potatoes. Potatoes themselves are not very caloric. There are 82 kcal in 100 g of boiled potatoes and 192 in fried ones. However, French fries will amount to 505 kcal.
Bacon, fried in a pan — 500 kcal. It should be noted that a pork chop with a strip of fat has almost the same caloric content — about 490 kcal.
Cheese. The caloric content of cheese can vary, with “Cheddar” being the “heaviest” at 426 kcal. Parmesan contains 392 kcal.
