Endocrinologist Elena Churakina explained the benefits of consuming canned fruits and berries.

It is incorrect to divide jam into "healthy" and "unhealthy," noted the doctor. Such a product is created primarily for taste. On the other hand, there is something valuable to be found in every jam. The expert suggested paying attention to three options. For example, rose hip jam is rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants, which protect the body's cells from oxidation and stimulate collagen production.

Blackcurrant jam is also rich in vitamins and minerals. Overall, it is beneficial for strengthening the immune system. Raspberry jam is recommended to be consumed during illness: it has a diaphoretic effect that "lowers" the temperature during flu and ARVI.

The most undesirable is store-bought jam produced in industrial conditions. It will contain more artificial additives than real beneficial properties.

Elena Churakina advised consuming 1–2 teaspoons of jam per day. It can be added to tea or spread on a slice of bread. The main thing is that the jam should not make up more than 15% of the daily caloric intake.
