It is important to note that honey loses its benefits when heated above 40 °C. Adding it to hot tea is pointless, although many use such a drink to treat colds.
One should not abuse honey and include it in the diet with certain chronic diseases.
People with diabetes, obesity, and metabolic disorders should consume honey only after consulting a doctor, as even small doses can provoke an increase in blood sugar.
If you decide to give up sugar in favor of honey, then:
eat no more than 1–2 tsp. per day;
add honey to warm drinks or porridge, but not to boiling water;
choose natural, unpasteurized honey from reliable producers.
