Experienced chefs claim that it is not necessary to throw away carrots that have lost their shape and density, as you can restore their crunchiness and firmness without complicated manipulations and convoluted means.
Experts recommend taking a deep container (a regular pot will do), filling it with cool water, and immersing the wilted carrots in it.
It is important to use only fresh root vegetables that have simply "dried out" due to improper storage. If there is already mold or other defects on the skin that clearly indicate spoilage, it will not be possible to save it.
If the carrots look fine visually, just leave them in the water for 10–15 minutes. Once the time is up, drain the water — the flesh will have absorbed moisture. The vegetable will become juicy, firm, and suitable for a variety of dishes again.
