The sharp increase followed the events in the Middle East after the Hamas attack on Israel.

Germany continues to record a high level of antisemitism. New data shows that nearly 24 antisemitic incidents occur daily in the country, and the number of cases with far-right motivation has reached a record high in recent years.

According to the annual report of the monitoring network Rias, 8,725 antisemitic incidents were registered in Germany in 2025. This is nine cases more than the previous year, as reported by tagesschau. If we translate the statistics into daily figures, it amounts to almost 24 incidents per day. Experts note that the high level has been maintained for several consecutive years.

The President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, Josef Schuster, stated that antisemitism in the country has ceased to be a series of isolated spikes. In his opinion, it is a long-term trend.

A similar assessment was given by the German government's commissioner for combating antisemitism, Felix Klein. He warned that the spread of antisemitic sentiments remains a serious social problem.

Main locations of incidents:

-streets and public spaces;

-the internet and social networks;

-universities and educational institutions;

-public transport;

-memorial complexes and places of remembrance;

-synagogues.

3,506 cases were recorded on the streets. The internet ranked second with 2,314 incidents. For many Russian-speaking residents of Germany, such statistics may seem surprising. However, experts have long noted that manifestations of antisemitism increasingly occur not only in the political sphere but also in everyday situations.

What forms are most common

The majority of registered cases are not related to physical violence. Nevertheless, they involve actions that affect the victims in their daily lives.

Of the total number of incidents, specialists classified 7,770 cases as offensive behavior. This includes humiliating statements, insults, and antisemitic graffiti.

At the same time, experts recorded 413 cases of property damage, 257 threats, and 103 cases of mass distribution of messages with antisemitic content.

The most severe incidents occurred less frequently. However, throughout the year, there were four cases of extreme violence and another 178 physical assaults.

One of the most high-profile episodes was an attack near the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin. During the attack, an unknown assailant severely injured a tourist with a knife.

Statistics increased after October 2023

The authors of the study link the sharp increase in figures to events in the Middle East following the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. According to the report, it was after this date that the number of registered cases began to rise rapidly.

Statistics from recent years show the scale of changes:

-in 2022, 2,610 incidents were registered;

-in 2023, their number rose to 4,886;

-in 2025, the figure reached 8,725 cases;

In fact, the number of registered incidents has increased more than threefold over several years.

Record for cases with far-right motivation

Researchers are particularly alarmed by the rise in incidents related to right-wing extremism. In 2025, experts registered 807 such cases. This is the highest figure since the start of nationwide monitoring in 2020.

Another 1,970 incidents were related to anti-Israel activism. Additionally, 501 cases were classified by experts as leftist anti-imperialist views. In almost five thousand episodes, it was not possible to determine a specific motive.
