On the night of June 6, an attack occurred on a conductor-controller on a train traveling from Riga to Kemeri. The woman was taken to a medical facility after the incident, and the police have begun an investigation.
According to the company Vivi, the incident occurred around midnight on the Riga - Kemeri route. The train departed from Riga at 23:00 and was scheduled to arrive in Kemeri at 23:58.
According to the company, the attack took place between the Sloka and Kemeri stops. A young man used physical violence against the conductor, after which he stole a bag belonging to the company. It contained cash and work equipment.
After the incident, the conductor was taken to a medical facility. There are no other reported injuries, according to Vivi.
The company reports that after the incident, the individual exited at the Kemeri station around 00:05 and disappeared into the darkness.
The State Police have been informed of the incident, and an investigation is currently underway.
