After the fire in the hay storage shed in the Smiltene region, the body of a deceased person was discovered. At the same time, a report was received by the police about the disappearance of a 14-year-old boy, but there is currently no official confirmation of a connection between these events.

The State Police have initiated a criminal process following a fire that occurred on Sunday in the Branti parish of the Smiltene region. After extinguishing the blaze in a hay storage shed, rescuers discovered the body of a deceased person. Their identity has not yet been established.

At the same time, the police received a report about the disappearance of a 14-year-old boy. This has led to a theory of a possible connection between the teenager's disappearance and the tragedy at the fire site.

However, law enforcement agencies emphasize that it is too early to draw definitive conclusions. A number of examinations have been appointed to establish the identity of the deceased, including DNA testing. Only after receiving the results will specialists be able to confirm or deny any possible connection to the missing teenager.

It is also known that shortly before the fire broke out, several minors were near the shed.

Investigators are currently determining what exactly happened at the scene and how the fire started. The police are considering all possible versions of the incident.

At this time, it is important to understand that there is no official confirmation of the identity of the deceased. The investigation is ongoing, and the results of the appointed examinations will be crucial.

Since minors are involved in the case, the police are not disclosing further details and urge caution when disseminating unverified information.

After the tragedy, law enforcement also reminded parents of the need to discuss safety issues with their children during the summer holidays. Special attention is recommended to be paid to fire safety, the prohibition of playing with fire, and the importance of informing loved ones about their whereabouts.

The investigation continues, and the circumstances of the incident are yet to be established.
