On Monday, June 1, Lithuanian educational institutions began receiving mass threats about allegedly planted explosives.
On June 1, many schools across Lithuania discovered emails claiming that explosives had allegedly been planted in their institutions. At least 130 such cases are already known, and their number is constantly increasing.
The police noted that they are verifying the information and so far it does not appear that there is a real threat behind the messages.
Institutions that received threats are advised not to interrupt the educational process and exams, but to survey the area and inform law enforcement in case anything suspicious is found.
It should be noted that school exams are taking place in the Baltic countries in early June.
