The court's decision to release the man suspected of murdering a 35-year-old resident of Baloži has caused confusion among the relatives of the deceased and local residents. The father of the murdered man claims he does not understand how, under such serious circumstances, the suspect ended up free.

In Baloži, the investigation into the murder of 35-year-old Vadim, whose body was found with multiple stab wounds and signs of beating, continues, reports the show Degpunktā (TV3).

Residents of the area filmed the moment when the deceased's body, wrapped in a blanket, was carried out of a private house. At that time, the police detained the 42-year-old homeowner Dmitry, who became the main suspect in the case.

According to a random witness, even before the emergency services arrived, there were noticeable traces of blood in the yard of the house.

"The one who died was beaten much more severely. The second man had almost no serious injuries," the woman said.

As the father of the deceased, Dmitry, recounted, that evening his son went with a friend to visit an acquaintance. Later, the friend left, and Vadim stayed in the house. The last evidence of his life were video recordings that appeared in a friends' chat. According to the father, in one of the videos, his son looked very drunk and said that he did not understand where he was and who was taking him somewhere.

The investigation is considering various versions of what happened. Among local residents and acquaintances of the deceased, there are speculations about a possible connection of the conflict with drugs, but this information has not been officially confirmed.

The relatives were particularly outraged by the court's decision not to arrest the suspect.

"How could he be released from custody? They say he claimed self-defense. But, according to the expert conclusion, Vadim had two stab wounds in the abdomen and one in the chest," said the father of the deceased.

During the investigation, the State Police requested that the suspect be arrested, but the court rejected the petition. Instead, the man was assigned other preventive measures — being placed under police supervision and a travel ban.

The police confirmed that they received a judicial justification for the decision, but its content is not disclosed. The Riga District Court also explained that the reasoning for the decision has limited access and is not subject to public disclosure.

The investigation of the criminal case continues. According to law enforcement agencies, the suspect had not previously come to the attention of the police.

The lack of public explanations from the court has raised numerous questions among local residents and the relatives of the deceased, who continue to await answers regarding the reasons for the tragedy and the progress of the investigation.
