The State Labor Inspectorate (VDI) continues its investigation into the accident at the Riga Eastern Clinical University Hospital (RAKUS), where an employee was fatally trapped by doors. No decisions have been made in the case yet, the inspectorate reported.
As previously reported, a criminal case has been initiated regarding the violation of labor protection rules under the Criminal Law, if it resulted in a person's death.
As Latvian Television has learned, an employee of RAKUS was trapped by doors in the radiology department, where, presumably, the safety systems did not function.
Earlier, RAKUS informed the LETA agency that, citing the General Data Protection Regulation and the right of the victim and her family to privacy, the hospital would not provide further information about the incident.
