Construction of a municipal police station has finally begun at 11 Emmas Street in Vecmilgrāvis. As reported to the city council deputies by the head of the law enforcement agency, Juris Lukass, it will be put into operation in 2028. Not too quickly.
The city police have created 10 new positions, reported Martiņš Kossovičs (“Progressives”) at the municipal council plenary session.
The council decided to pay law enforcement officers and provide "ration" compensation – at the rate of €1.75 for 1 hour of work in everyday conditions. So during the workday, the "municipals" will be able to have a hearty lunch!

272 children in Riga were removed from families last year, reported Inese Andersone, head of the Social Committee of the Riga City Council (“New Unity”). Typically, they end up in a crisis center – and then are distributed to foster families as well as various institutional facilities...
– These children are traumatized, – emphasized I. Andersone. Therefore, the municipal budget will now allocate €872 per month for each child in such a family. Over the course of a year, this expense will amount to €2,421,900.
