Police crews and a funeral home vehicle at the entrance of an apartment building caused confusion among local residents, leading to various versions of what happened. What is known about the death in Kengarags?
Several bloodstains are visible on the steps at the entrance to the house, reports the Degpunktā program (TV3). A few days ago, there was a crew from the State Police here, as well as a funeral home vehicle. Residents of the house on Rushona Street talk about the mysterious events that occurred here on Saturday morning.
"I was just told that there was police, there was an ambulance, and someone was taken away. And there was, what is it called, a funeral home vehicle," says a local resident.
"I don’t know, I only know that someone died in that entrance. My daughter told me. Well, that the police came, the ambulance came, and they took the body out," add the locals.
A fourth-floor resident, Dzintars, points to the loud noises he heard that day outside his apartment door. It could have been a regular conflict between young neighbors and an elderly resident, or perhaps something more serious.
"The youth were running back and forth, even at night. I was resting at home, and that’s it. Some noise in the entrance. But I didn’t open the door; they were arguing. An elderly woman lives on my floor. She was saying: 'Shut up, go away!' But what happened next, I don’t know. I went to sleep," Dzintars recounts.
The confusion among residents and the theories about a possible conflict between neighbors were dismissed by law enforcement. The deceased was a 60-year-old resident of the building. She decided to take her own life and chose to do so by consuming a large amount of medication.
