In the past week, the police registered 199 cases of fraud.
In 54 cases, residents suffered financial losses, while in 145 cases, the fraudsters' attempts were unsuccessful.
The greatest damage to residents was caused by phishing, when fraudsters posed as representatives of various institutions and companies, police officers, mobile operators, employees of the State Revenue Service, the State Social Insurance Agency, credit institutions, postal services, and social services.
As a result of such schemes, residents lost 415,499 euros. The highest number of such fraud cases was registered in the Riga region - 162 cases.
