In the Adazi region, a woman came to the attention of law enforcement after drinking just a large glass of wine and becoming so intoxicated that she did not understand what was happening around her.
In this condition, she decided to get behind the wheel, but the trip ended in a police vehicle, reports the program Degpunktā (TV3).
The dark Mercedes, driven by the intoxicated woman, was apparently reported to the authorities by a witness. The car was spotted on Dzirnupes Street, where repair work is currently underway. The driver stopped at a traffic light, and police officers approached her to talk.
It was evident that at first, the woman tried to cover her mouth, probably so the police wouldn't smell the alcohol.
"During the conversation, it was noticeable that she had consumed alcohol, and the conversation itself was not quite coherent and adequate. Since there were suspicions that the woman was in a state of intoxication, the State Police were called to the scene," said the head of the municipal police of the Adazi region, Oskars Feldmanis.
The woman was found to have 2.24 promille of alcohol in her breath.
