On Thursday, shortly before midnight, two deceased individuals — a man and a woman — were found in an apartment in Kengarags.
The State Police are currently investigating the cause of death of the deceased, however one of the versions suggests a possible drug overdose, reports the show Degpunktā (TV3).
Reflecting on neighbors leading a lifestyle that is unclear or disruptive to others, the apartment from which the bodies of two people were removed is not at the top of the list. The residence belongs to an elderly woman who shares it with her son. Emergency services arrived around midnight, so for the neighbors, the incident, so to speak, went unnoticed.
"I heard some noise, like someone was going upstairs, but what was happening in the apartment, honestly, I don’t know. I know the neighbor, he likes to drink, has been in jail, more than once. That is, he and his friend. Very scary. Thank you for telling me. [DP: And is it quiet in the apartment? — ed.] Yes, he rarely stayed there overnight. He has some woman, his mother lives at the cottage, grandmother Vera. I hope she is alive. So I see her here very rarely, she is at the cottage. But he comes and goes here periodically. Oh God, how scary it is to live in our time, to be honest," the neighbor says.
Neighbors describe the man as polite but unpredictable. The apartment door was not broken, however, it is currently sealed. It is unknown who called the medics. Unofficial information indicates that the people may have died from a drug overdose. There are no syringes or other signs indicating the presence of drug addicts in the house in the stairwell or yard.
"Two bodies were found in the apartment — a 49-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man. A criminal process has been initiated under Article 13 of the Criminal Law, examinations have been appointed, however, initial information does not indicate the commission of a crime," explained the State Police.
"I call her all the time. This mother came to me. She said her son goes to Germany," the neighbor added.
