Stopped breathing at the crosswalk: police saved a man in downtown Riga

On April 4, while patrolling the central district, officers of the Riga Municipal Police noticed a man lying unconscious on the pedestrian crossing and immediately decided to investigate the circumstances of the incident.

After interviewing passersby, law enforcement officials established that the man had just fallen, and witnesses had already reported the incident to the emergency services.

While waiting for the medics to arrive, the police noticed that the man's pulse was slowing, his face color was changing, and he had stopped breathing, so they immediately began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, resulting in the restoration of his breathing. After a short time, his breathing stopped again, and the officers continued resuscitation efforts until the medics arrived.

Upon the arrival of the Emergency Medical Service, the man's condition was stabilized, and he was transported to a medical facility.
