The Eastern Prosecutor's Office of Riga has charged three Serbian citizens with armed robbery of the "Baltic Watches" store in Vecmilgrāvis in April of last year.
All three have been charged with large-scale robbery committed as part of an organized group, with the use of violence and the threat of its use.
Two Serbian citizens are also charged with intentional destruction and damage to someone else's property, the prosecutor's office reported.
The police are investigating a separate case against a person who was not detained in Finland. Investigative actions in this case are ongoing.
The prosecutor's office stated that the foreigners were legally in Latvia and arrived as tourists.
The prosecutor's office does not have information about the whereabouts of the stolen watches.
As reported, in January, Finland extradited three Serbian citizens to Latvia, accused of armed robbery of the "Baltic Watches" store. The criminal group stole about 80 watches and fled in a car with stolen license plates after the robbery.
Thanks to international cooperation, law enforcement agencies managed to establish that the robbers were four Serbs around 30 years old. In October last year, three members of the organized group were arrested in Finland, where they were already preparing to commit the next robbery similar to the one in Latvia. Finnish law enforcement detained them at the stage of preparing for the robbery.
The fourth person involved in the robbery in Latvia has been placed on an international wanted list.
