The Kekava Ring Road is blocked due to the collision of six passenger cars and two trucks.
On Sunday, traffic on the Kekava Ring Road is blocked in both directions due to a major road traffic accident, reports the company "Latvijas valsts ceļi."
The accident occurred at the 18th kilometer of the Bauska Highway (A7) on the section of the Kekava Ring Road between Baloži and the Riga Ring Road. According to the State Police, eight vehicles were involved in the collision - six passenger cars and two trucks. As a result of the collision, one truck went off the road into a ditch. The State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) reported that gas is leaking from the overturned truck. Emergency services from the State Police, SFRS, Emergency Medical Service, and municipal police are working at the scene.
Traffic is blocked in both directions. The accident site can be bypassed via the Lapenieki-Kekava-Gugi road (P137) or other roads.
