The State Police and the Health Inspection are investigating possible cases of illegal medical activities and suspicions of sexual violence by one man, reports Latvian Television (LTV).
A woman contacted the editorial office of the program, stating that she approached a man offering treatment for various addictions through hypnosis. His website claims that he is a "specialist in addiction treatment."
According to the woman, after the consultation, the man began to compliment her appearance and offered to massage the tense areas of her back. The woman claims that she had to undress, and during the massage, the man touched her inappropriately.
That same evening, the woman filed a report with the police. Law enforcement agencies have initiated a criminal process under Article 160 of the Criminal Code — regarding sexual violence.
In turn, the Health Inspection has begun an investigation into possible illegal medical activities.
The number of people posing as specialists and offering treatment without the right to do so is increasing, acknowledged psychiatrist and advisor to the Minister of Health, Liene Sile, in a conversation with LTV.
The man himself denied, in a phone conversation, that he ever touched any woman against her will, as well as that massage is part of his services.
