Another fatal incident occurred this weekend in Ulbroka, Ropaži Municipality. An elderly man died. It is not ruled out that the driver suffered a health issue, reports the Degpunktā program (TV3).
On Saturday morning, a driver died in Ulbroka. The man was heading towards Riga, in the direction of the roundabout, but for unclear reasons, his journey ended at the road barrier in the oncoming lane. Those living across the street heard various versions of what happened immediately after the incident. One of the neighbors provided the latest details.
"She said that he felt unwell, that he died right on the road. And then he ended up there, in the ditch. [Why does she think he felt unwell?] Someone from the house was already there when the doctors were resuscitating him and performing artificial respiration," said Gunars, who heard these conversations.
After the impact, the car's bumper and driver's side headlight were damaged. The driver was 69 years old, and it is quite possible that everything happened just as the locals describe: the man felt unwell, and losing control of the car, he crashed into the barrier. After the tragic incident, flowers were laid and candles were lit at the broken railing. The State Police have initiated a criminal investigation.
